COMPARE
ANGI ALTERNATIVES FOR CONTRACTORS.
The main alternatives to Angi are other lead marketplaces like Thumbtack and Modernize, subscriptions like Houzz Pro, and your own ads, run by your team or a partner like BINA. The biggest differences are how many other contractors get the same homeowner and what you pay for.
How the options compare
What each company says on its own pages, checked in November 2026:
| Option | How you pay | Who can reach the homeowner |
|---|---|---|
| Angi | Per lead; the price changes with the task, location and demand | Up to 5 pros per request |
| Thumbtack | No membership fee; per lead, at a price you set | The customer can contact up to 5 pros in the first 4 hours |
| Modernize | Per lead or call, priced by expected value, up to a ceiling you set | Per its consent terms: Modernize and up to 4 companies |
| BINA | 20% of your ad spend, plus a one-time $1,500 setup fee | You, and nobody else |
Houzz Pro is sold as a subscription instead: the Pro plan is $199 a month, as an annual subscription that starts after a 30-day trial, and its advertising starts at $499 a month.
Each has its own page: Thumbtack, Modernize and Houzz Pro.
Shared leads and the race to call
On a marketplace, the same homeowner can hear from several contractors, so speed to call decides a lot. Angi, for example, matches each request with no more than five pros and charges for a lead whether or not you open or respond to it. Its credits cover set problems, such as a wrong phone number or a project outside your ZIP codes, but not a homeowner who hired another pro first or is still gathering quotes.
Where BINA is different
- Exclusive: each homeowner goes to you and nobody else. The moment they enter our system they go on an exclusion list.
- No per-lead charges: you pay 20% of your ad spend each month plus a one-time $1,500 setup fee, and Meta and Google bill the ad spend to your own card.
- Verified and enriched: the phone is real, they own the home, and your team sees estimated income, credit range and intent before they dial.
- Follow-up from the moment a lead comes in, 24/7, and Bina One, our CRM, tracks every lead to booked and sold.
- Optimized for closed jobs: every appointment, sale and disposition your team logs feeds back into the engine, so the budget goes where jobs close.
Which one fits
A marketplace can make sense for smaller jobs or a team that wants to buy one lead at a time. BINA is built for high-ticket contractors with a sales team, starting at $5,000 a month in ad spend.
