COMPARE
MODERNIZE ALTERNATIVES FOR CONTRACTORS.
Modernize sells home improvement leads, inbound calls and live transfers. It prices each lead by its expected value, up to a ceiling you set, and matches each homeowner who requests quotes on its website with up to four contractors. The main alternatives are other marketplaces like Angi and Thumbtack, subscriptions like Houzz Pro, and your own ads, run by your team or a partner like BINA.
How Modernize charges
What Modernize says on its own pages, checked in November 2026:
- Three kinds of leads: form leads sent to your CRM in real time, inbound calls to a number of yours shown on its sites, and live transfers that its call center qualifies and passes to your team.
- Each lead is priced by its expected value instead of a flat rate, and you set the most you want to pay.
- Form leads come from Modernize.com and other sites it owns, plus a network of digital partners.
- You plan what to buy with its team on a consultation call.
On the public pages we checked, we found no lead prices, minimum spend, contract length or credit policy for bad leads, so ask for each in writing.
How many contractors reach the same homeowner
Modernize says that when a homeowner requests quotes on its website, it matches them with up to four pros, and its consent terms let Modernize and up to four home improvement companies call and text the homeowner. It tells homeowners to expect to hear from each match within 24 hours.

The alternatives to Modernize
- Angi: pay per lead, with each request sent to up to five pros and credits for some leads.
- Thumbtack: pay per lead at a price you set, under a weekly budget, with no contract.
- Houzz Pro: a monthly software plan, mostly on annual contracts, with Project Match requests sent to up to six pros.
- Your own ads on Meta and Google, run by your team or a partner like BINA: the leads come to you alone, and your team or ours does the first follow-up instead of a call center.
Which one fits
Modernize can suit a contractor who wants inbound calls and live transfers without running ads. BINA suits contractors with a sales team who want every homeowner to themselves: we run the ads, set up the CRM and the dialer your reps call from, and AI follows up with every lead 24/7, starting at $5,000 a month in ad spend. Appointment setting shows how BINA gets homeowners on your calendar.
